Japan’s Agriculture Inaccurately Portrayed by Media

  Agriculture has become something of a boom in Japan. Gals of the streets of Shibuya, Tokyo, on Oct. 10, 2009, showed up en masse in a paddy field of Ogata Village, Akita Prefecture. The unlikely farmers were there to harvest the rice which they planted back in May on a project sponsored by Shiho Fujita, a model-turned businesswoman known for making a business of being a gal.
